This week I wanna talk about interruptions.
Surprises. Shockers. Stressors. None of which I am very fond of (and I don't think I'm alone in this).
Now, as I explained in last week’s post, I was shocked by my sudden lack of employment, and boy, have I been stressed about it. But the Lord has told me to stay the course and persevere in faith, so that’s what I will do.
But thanks to a handy dandy devotional by Max Lucado, the Lord has shown me another perspective on interruptions. He writes…
“We seldom, if ever, allow the Holy Spirit to interrupt our plans and lead us to worship so that we might see Jesus.”
Friends, I don’t know about you, but I want to be interrupted by Jesus.
When my plans are leading me down a path of dark destruction, I want the Light to step in. When I am too busy busy busy and distracted to slow down and notice the million-and-one ways He blesses me each and every day…
I need to be interrupted.
That’s why I decided to post these greeting cards alongside this message – if we want to trust in the Lord, if we want to be led down His paths of righteousness, joy, and life…
Then we cannot walk in our own ways. Our own understandings.
We have to submit to our Good Guide, make Him our True North... if we want to live an unhurried, unharried life of respite. Peace. Calm. For He is our peace that surpasses understanding, our calm in the midst of the storms.
We need Him, friends, and I pray that these cards remind you of that.
May Jesus interrupt you in the very best, most necessary of ways. And may you trust in, lean into, submit to, and walk with Him every day of your life.
Walk beside Jesus' sure steps; they will never lead you wrong.
It is so true that in order to be happy and walk in wisdom we need to trust in the Lord, know His will by studying the Word and grow to be like Him. I don't like being interrupted either, but I agree the Lord knows best!
